My Bio
"Tell me about yourself."
My ideal answer to this question.
I've been asked the question in the title so many times now, as I'm sure we all have been especially because it's the very first step in getting to know somebody new, so I decided to write a piece on it with my "ideal answer."
I am a Computer Science Engineering graduate from VIT Chennai, specializing in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics. I currently work as a Research Officer at A*STAR's Quantum Innovation Centre in Singapore, where my work sits around scientific ML pipelines, cloud data systems, and the GNOME dark matter detection project.
But that's just the formal version.
The more useful version is that I like building systems that connect research, infrastructure, and product. Scientific data pipelines, ML validation, backend systems, full-stack applications, browser extensions, local automation, and agentic AI workflows. I enjoy moving between layers because that is usually where the interesting problems are hiding.
What I've Worked On
- scientific ML pipelines and preprocessing systems
- multi-terabyte ETL and AWS data lake workflows
- time-series anomaly detection and ML validation
- full-stack products with real operational requirements
- iOS and computer-vision integrations
- browser-extension runtimes
- agentic AI tooling and local workflow automation
At A*STAR, that means working with magnetometer data for the GNOME dark matter detection network: profiling large HDF5 datasets, building preprocessing systems, reproducing reference outputs, and validating ML baselines on GPU compute.
Before A*STAR, I have built production commerce systems, CoreML-powered iOS flows, secure APIs, payment workflows, client-side extension runtimes, and local Codex automation.
Technical Shape
I am especially interested in the practical overlap between:
- machine learning and reliable data systems
- research code and production infrastructure
- agent workflows and day-to-day developer tooling
- interfaces that make complex systems easier to operate
I care about intelligent systems, but I care just as much about whether they can be used, debugged, explained, and extended without turning into fragile demos.
Where I Come From
I am originally from Delhi, but that sentence is a little misleading because I have only lived there for around five years total.
I come from a defence background. My dad is a gazetted officer in the Indian Navy, so I moved around a lot growing up: Vizag, Mumbai, Wellington near Ooty, Delhi, and then Chennai for college. A lot of my childhood was around ports and naval communities, especially Vizag and Mumbai.
My mother is a homemaker and small-business owner, runs Nandiniz'Aura, and has also been very active in the Naval Wives Welfare Association (NWWA) community. She's an artist at heart and that has rubbed off on my brother too.
Ooh yes, I have a younger brother who is currently pursuing his Bachelor's degree in Industrial and Architectural Design.
Watching both my parents operate in very different but equally demanding roles shaped a lot of how I think about responsibility, adaptability, and showing up properly for people.
Moving that often made me good at adapting. New city, new school, new people, new social rules. You learn quickly how to connect, how to listen, how to introduce yourself without making it awkward, and how to become useful in a room you just entered.
That has carried into work. I am comfortable in new environments, fast-moving teams, public conversations, and ambiguous problem spaces.
Communication And Collaboration
My technical interests are backed by a lot of non-technical muscle: public speaking, leadership roles, editorial work, event management, student communities, and creative teams.
That matters because good engineering is not just private intelligence applied to code. It is also communication, judgment, taste, and the ability to carry an idea from vague shape to usable execution with other people involved.
My LinkedIn bio puts it cleanly: I bring strong communication and collaboration skills shaped by leadership roles and public speaking, and I try to use that to bridge the gap between ideas and execution.
That is accurate.
Personal Notes
I speak Hindi and English natively, with limited proficiency in French.
Outside work, I spend a lot of time with podcasts and videos from people like Theo Browne, ThePrimeagen, Linus Tech Tips, MKBHD, 3Blue1Brown, Cleo Abram and Veritasium. I also like trekking, working out, reading, music, and generally tinkering with whatever tool or idea is currently stuck in my head.
The thread across most of my life is adaptation. New places, new teams, new domains, new systems. I have had a lot of practice walking into unfamiliar territory and finding a way to contribute.
Right now, I am looking toward full-time roles starting around late June or July 2026, especially across agentic development, AI/ML engineering, software engineering, data engineering, and GenAI product development.
